Padraic Emparan
Director of Latin
Padraic Emparan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Classics (CSU Fresno) and a Master of Arts in Anthropology/Archaeology (CSU Fullerton); Mr. Emparan is a highly motivated Classics teacher with experience in establishing and developing Classics/Classical Language programs (including Latin, Ancient Greek, Classical Archaeology, Ethno-Military History) at the secondary level. His pedagogical experience is in both public and private schools (including religious institutions). Having taught in Southern California at Santa Margarita Catholic High School, Servite High School, Cornelia Connelly School, and Trinity Classical Academy, Mr. Emparan tailored those Classics programs to serve the needs of those individual student populations in a holistic and multidisciplinary/multi-skilled approach (the phalanx method). Mr Emparan is an AP Latin certified teacher, an International Baccalaureate qualified teacher in SL/HL Latin and Greek; he is a Fulbright Award winner (American Academy of Rome) and Eugene Borza Award winner (American School of Classical Archaeology). Mr. Emparan’s archaeological experience spans twenty years in over 10 countries and three continents, emphasizing a military historical approach. His favorite Bible Verse is James 2:26 “ ὥσπερ γὰρ τὸ σῶμα χωρὶς πνεύματος νεκρόν ἐστιν, οὕτως καὶ ἡ πίστις χωρὶς ἔργων νεκρά ἐστιν = For just as the body is dead without the breath, so also faith is dead without deeds”.
