Garrett Keenahan

AP Lit & Comp Teacher

This is Mr. Keenahan's first year teaching with Veritas Classical Academy. He graduated from Edinburgh Napier University with a BA in English before spending many years working as a bookseller in Dublin, Ireland. Literature has always been Mr. Keenahan's passion and he has been involved in several book projects as both an editor and a researcher. He is currently teaching the online AP Modern Literature course and he is enthusiastic about teaching our students how to analyze and deconstruct great works of literature. Mr. Keenahan challenges the students to look beyond the story and ask themselves 'Why?'. He believes that classical education teaches students how to think for themselves and that this is the greatest foundation for their future success, confidence and happiness. Mr. Keenahan and his wife, Ariana, have two children who are even bigger readers than he is. When he is not reading or researching you will find him playing, watching or studying chess in a hopeless attempt to stay ahead of his children. His favorite Bible verse is from Philippians 4:8 : "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."
