Steven Carter

Medieval History

Steven Carter teaches Humanities at Veritas Classical Academy. He graduated from Bemidji State University in Minnesota with a BA in History and Minor in Political Science, and then went on to graduate with an MA in History from the University of Idaho. Steven has taught for the Classical Learning Resource Center since 2022, and has experience also teaching American Government and Civics at the local Minnesota homeschool co-op. During undergraduate school, Steven studied abroad at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford, and found the experience highly illuminating. Steven deeply appreciates how the classical model approaches learning as not only a pursuit of knowledge, but a pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty, emanating from God, that helps human beings to live virtuous lives by loving God and stewarding the gifts they have been given. He also enjoys laboring in the fields of his family farm, located in the Minnesota heartland. Steven's favorite Bible verse is Ecclesiastes 3:12: "I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil-this is God's gift to man.
