Lucas Mikasa

It is a joy to step into the role of teaching 3rd grade Latin, 7th grade Logic, and assistant teaching 1st/2nd grade Literacy at Veritas this year. I have previously worked with Veritas students as a teacher’s assistant and am excited to be returning. As a graduate of Biola University's Torrey Honors College, I have developed a deep love of the pursuit of the True, Good, and Beautiful in all aspects of life – a vision that is strongly shared in the educational mission of Veritas. 

I hope to cultivate a learning space that pursues excellence that is properly ordered by the sort of grace-filled love outlined in Romans 8:37-39. Through this, I pray that my students leave filled with a wondrous curiosity at the God who created all things and a steady assurance of his love. 

Outside of Veritas, you can find me working at Ganahl Lumber, trying out a fun new recipe, tackling a crossword in the park, and watching a good movie. Fun fact: I spent my summer getting married, which is pretty cool.
