Jessie Slupik
Kindergarten
My name is Jessie Slupik and I am delighted to serve as Veritas’ new kindergarten teacher. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from California State University, Bakersfield, and a three-year Master’s degree in Philosophy of Religion from Talbot Theological Seminary. After graduate school, I began teaching at Torrey Academy, where I taught Logic, Rhetoric, and Inklings classes in the classical model. I quickly embraced classical education as the most effective way to nurture young minds, a conviction I still hold. Over the years, I’ve taught students from kindergarten through high school and co-developed a Christian curriculum for high school English. I aim to foster academic excellence and strong Christian character, preparing students for future challenges. In my free time, I enjoy reading, painting, swing dancing, and playing games with my husband. I also sing with a women’s barbershop group. Among my favorite Bible verses, Proverbs 22:6—“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it”—guides my teaching, inspiring me to instill wisdom and virtue in my students. I’m excited to contribute to Veritas’ mission of shaping students for a life of faith and learning.
